Internet Explorer 7 (IE can't uninstall it)?

I am using a Compaq Computer. i installed ie 7 out of curiousity but it sucked so I uninstalled it. I removed it from the computer by the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs. It restarted the computer. I can't use IE 6. I really want to revert to IE 6. Unfortunately, I did whatever I can to revert. I even did a System Restore. Unfortunately. Nothing worked.

Despite the fact that I actually deleted IE 6, the exe files is still in the Programs%26gt; Internet Explorer folder. I try deleting it try. Not much help either T_T . the think comes back from the dead. It goes to recycle bin and another copy of it pops back in.

I can't access the D - the Recovery portion because I was suspecting IE 7 stuff to be on there.

I am still stuck with IE7 on my computer despite all efforts to remove it. Please someone help me get this IE7 off me...I really don't want to format the whole entire computer.

It should have reverted to IE6. I suspect that something is wrong with your registry settings. I suggest that you contact either microsoft or Compaq and tell them about your problem. As a temporary fix, i suggest going to the store and getting a copy of Opera or Firefox to do your webbrowsing with.

I think once you installed the upgrade you can never revert back to previous version just like the windows media player upgrade.

The only way to remove IE 7 is to re-install your operating system.
Please make sure you have a windows CD ready for this:

Start-%26gt; Settings-%26gt; Control Panel

Add/Remove Programs-%26gt; Add Remove Windows Components-%26gt; (Uncheck Internet explorer) Ok. Then it will uninstall IE. Restart then repeat the same process except you check internet explorer this time. Incase you are afraid you might lose your web browser get a backup one at www.firefox.com or www.opera.com.

Once you do this it should install what ever the IE came with when you install your computer.
